South Korea: Ulsan oil tanker explosion leaves one missing, another injured
On February 10, an oil tanker explosion at the United Terminal Korea (UTK) factory in Ulsan, South Korea has left one worker missing and another injured.
The blast occurred at around 11:20 a.m., with two workers caught in the explosion, Caliber.Az reports, citing South Korean media.
Emergency services swiftly responded, with one worker being transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, the second worker remains unaccounted for.
In response to the incident, fire authorities issued a level two emergency alert at 11:38 a.m., and fire crews are currently working to bring the blaze under control. Police have also been deployed to manage traffic around the area as a precautionary measure, as further explosions are feared.
Ulsan County issued a disaster safety warning at 11:40 a.m., advising vehicles to take alternative routes away from the affected area.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation as investigations into the cause of the explosion begin.
