Speaker of Georgian parliament visits China on official trip

Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili has begun an official visit to China at the invitation of the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.

The delegation includes the First Deputy Speaker, the head of the Georgia–China friendship group, as well as vice speakers and chairs of parliamentary committees on foreign affairs and agriculture, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

According to the statement, this is the first official visit by a Georgian parliamentary speaker to China in the past 20 years.
