Spokesman: Türkiye aims to minimize defence dependence
Türkiye has made significant progress on the threshold of the new century.
Fahrettin Altun, the head of the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidential Office, said this at a panel discussion: "The Great Vision of Türkiye," which was organized with the Office's support, Anadolu Agency reported.
According to him, Türkiye has provided the needs of security forces in the air, on land and at sea through its technical developments and diversified its ammunition arsenal. At the same time, the republic joined the ranks of exporters with millions of dollars in sales, Altun pointed out.
In addition, Altun drew attention to the pride of Turkish Defense Industry TCG Anadolu, the world's first aircraft carrier to carry UAV strikes on its deck.
Altun recalled the steps Türkiye has taken to reduce energy dependence.
"The discovery of natural gas reserves in the Black Sea is one of the most important signs of a strong and independent Türkiye. The field, which will meet 30 per cent of the country's needs, was put into production less than three years after discovery," Altun noted.
Altun further drew attention to Türkiye's demonstrated cooperation and cohesion, which will help confront the challenges faced regionally and globally.
"The victory in Karabakh is a crucial indicator of this unity and cohesion," Altun noted.
