Spokesman: Türkiye, Armenia complete preparations for direct trade launch
Türkiye and Armenia have completed bureaucratic preparations to begin direct trade between the two countries, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
Official spokesperson for the ministry, Öncü Keçeli, said on X that Ankara and Yerevan had finalised administrative steps as part of confidence-building measures linked to the ongoing normalisation process since 2022, Caliber.Az reports.

“In the context of confidence-building measures taken within the framework of the normalisation process with Armenia, which has been continuing since 2022, bureaucratic preparations for the start of direct trade between our country and Armenia were completed as of May 11, 2026,” Keçeli wrote.
He added that technical and administrative work to open the shared border between the two countries is still ongoing.
