Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is planning to travel to Switzerland on June 20, according to a source familiar with the matter. The source noted, however, that the travel plans could still change.
According to a source from one of the countries mediating between Washington and Tehran, Araghchi told several foreign counterparts on June 19 that maintaining the ceasefire in Lebanon is a critical issue for Iran and could determine the success or failure of any negotiations with the United States.
A second source from a mediating country said Iranian officials have emphasised that they want to see the ceasefire firmly established before proceeding with talks in Switzerland.
