Strait of Hormuz open to all ships except US, allies, says Iran

The Strait of Hormuz is open to all vessels except those of the United States and its allies, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in an interview with Al Araby Al Jadeed.

He added that diplomatic contacts with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and other neighbouring countries continue.

Araghchi also noted that many ships are likely avoiding passage through the Strait of Hormuz for safety reasons.

Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported strikes on several oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz area.
