Strait of Hormuz remains off limits to maritime traffic – IRIB

The Strait of Hormuz remains closed to shipping traffic, according to a correspondent for Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB reporting from the strategic waterway.

Over the past 24 hours, naval forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stopped two vessels attempting to transit the strait by firing warning shots.

Earlier, on July 14, US President Donald Trump said he had decided against imposing a 20% fee on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, opting instead to pursue trade and investment agreements with the United States.
