Supreme leader Khamenei warns of "heavy slap" for US aggression against Iran
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has issued a stark warning to the United States, vowing to deliver a "heavy slap" to any party that harms the Iranian people.
In a broadcast on his official website, Khamenei stated that, Iran will not hesitate to respond forcefully to any act of aggression, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
"They [the Americans] must understand that we have never started a conflict, but anyone who harms Iran will face a heavy slap," he declared during his speech on the first day of the Iranian New Year, 1404.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump, in a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has set a two-month deadline for negotiations on a new nuclear agreement.
The letter was delivered to UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi last week by Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, and subsequently passed on to Iranian officials.
A National Security Council spokesperson, Brian Hughes, stated, "President Trump made it clear to Ayatollah Khamenei that he wanted to resolve the dispute over Iran’s nuclear program diplomatically – and very soon – and if this was not possible, there would be other ways to resolve the dispute."
