Taiwan refuses to resell Hawks missile systems to Ukraine

Taiwan does not plan to resell Hawk surface-to-air missile systems (SAMs) to the US for their subsequent delivery to Ukraine.

"The terms have already been outlined, according to which Hawk SAMs will be got rid of year after year, they will be replaced by Tiangong SAMs [English name Sky Bow]. After that, they will be destroyed," TASS quotes Taiwan’s Defence Minister Chiu Kuo-Cheng as saying.

"The Zhongshan Institute of Science and Technology is responsible for partial disposal. We do not want to resell them [Hawk SAMs] to other individuals, countries and so on, as military items are sensitive matters that cannot be dealt with arbitrarily," he pointed out.
