Tajikistan transfers local airports under control of Defence Ministry
The Tajik government has adopted a resolution on the transfer of airports of local airlines from the municipal property of cities and regions to the republican property and to the balance of the Defence Ministry of the republic.
The document, adopted on August 31, 2023, was published on the legal information portal of the Justice Ministry, Caliber.Az reports with reference to Tajik media.
In keeping with the resolution, 18 local airline airports will be transferred to the defense department from the municipal property of cities and regions.
The Defence Ministry is entrusted with the funds allocated for military service as part of the mobilization conscription reserve to ensure the restoration and permanent readiness of the airports.
Currently, flights are operated only from four international airports in the country: Dushanbe, Khujand, Bokhtar and Kulob.
