Taliban foreign minister to fly to Russia

Zamir Kabulov, the Russian president's special representative for Afghanistan and director of the Foreign Ministry's Second Asia Department, has said that Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaki, a representative of the Taliban Islamist movement, will fly to Russia on September 25.

"Yes, he will already arrive today," the official told TASS.

On September 18, Kabulov reported that Taliban representatives would take part in a Moscow-format meeting on the Afghan settlement in Kazan on September 29.
