Tbilisi city administration suspends operations, Mayor Kaladze says
The Tbilisi city administration is set to suspend its operations until a new government is formed, Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced on October 28.
According to Kaladze, the powers of the current members of the capital’s government will be temporarily halted, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.
The mayor is expected to present his renewed vision, key projects and development plans for the city to the Sakrebulo (City Assembly) on Friday, October 31.
The suspension of Tbilisi’s city administration follows a decisive outcome in Georgia’s recent municipal elections, which saw Mayor Kakha Kaladze secure a commanding first-round victory.
According to the final results of the municipal elections held on October 4, Kaladze secured 215,363 votes — winning 71.68% of the total and achieving victory in the first round.
