Tbilisi extends diplomatic greetings to Iran’s Supreme Leader

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has sent a letter of congratulations to Mojtaba Khamenei following his election as Iran’s Supreme Leader.
In his message, Kobakhidze emphasized the importance Georgia places on its partnership with Iran, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
“Georgia places great importance on the partnership between our two countries and peoples, based on mutual respect. I wish the Iranian people peace and prosperity,” he wrote.
Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has been appointed the new Supreme Leader of Iran. The Assembly of Experts reportedly voted by an overwhelming majority to declare Mojtaba Khamenei the third Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
