Tbilisi mayor dismisses EU pressure ahead of possible sanctions
22 April 2026 16:36
The Secretary-General of the ruling Georgian Dream party and Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, has commented on the possibility of sanctions from the European Union, stating that Tbilisi will firmly defend its national interests, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
“We will defend Georgia’s interests, the country’s future, and the interests of the Georgian people. How many times should sanctions be imposed? Once, twice, three times? We have heard all of this, but here we are talking about the country’s interests. In general, European bureaucrats limit themselves to superficial messages, threats, and blackmail,” Kaladze told journalists.
