Tbilisi raises concern over Berlin’s stalled ambassador approval process
The German Foreign Ministry has not provided Georgia with an explanation for the delay in accrediting its ambassador, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry stated that since October 1, 2025, the President of Germany has accepted letters of credence from newly appointed ambassadors of 12 countries, including Lebanon, Ecuador, Ghana, Nigeria, and Mongolia, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
However, the Georgian ambassador has still not presented his credentials, although copies were submitted to the German Foreign Ministry on December 17, 2025.
Information regarding Georgian authorities has not yet been updated on the German Foreign Ministry’s website either.
“The inconsistent position of the Federal Foreign Ministry of Germany towards our country is completely incomprehensible to the Georgian side,” the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
