Teen injures 11 people at Turkish wedding after firing shotgun

Eleven people were injured by shotgun pellets that ricocheted off the ground at a wedding in Türkiye’s Denizli province after a 15-year-old teenager attempted to fire a traditional celebratory shot into the air.

According to Milliyet, the incident occurred in the Kıralan neighbourhood of the Çivril district.

The injured were taken to hospital, with two of them transferred to medical facilities in Denizli for further examination and treatment. None of the victims is reported to be in life-threatening condition.

Law enforcement officers took the teenager in for questioning and launched an investigation into the incident.

An administrative inquiry is currently underway.
