Tehran, Beijing hold talks on regional ceasefire stability
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on April 15, during which the sides addressed the ongoing ceasefire in the region.
Araghchi said in his Telegram channel that he provided a detailed update on recent developments in the region following the establishment of a ceasefire, and expressed concern over possible consequences of what he described as “provocative US actions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, which could further complicate the situation.”
He also thanked China and Russia for jointly opposing a US unilateral resolution at the UN Security Council, calling it “an important step to prevent escalation.”
Wang Yi, in turn, noted the resilience and confidence of the Iranian people during the recent conflicts and reaffirmed China’s readiness to support diplomatic efforts and contribute to ending the war.
