Tehran blames US, Israel for unrest deaths, warns against anti-Iran activity from Iraq
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has said that actions by the United States have led to the deaths of Iranian citizens during violent riots.
Speaking at a briefing, Baghaei added that claims circulating about the planned execution of 800 people were untrue but had nevertheless been believed by some audiences, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
He said the Al Jazeera report showed how targeted accounts were being used to publish content against Iran.
The spokesperson also warned foreign movements against the use of regional territory for actions targeting Iran.
He added: "Foreign movements against Iran from Iraqi territory were being monitored, stressing that regional countries are adhering to their commitments under international law."
