Pakistan ready to host talks between Iran, US, says Foreign Office
Islamabad has signaled its willingness to host negotiations involving Iran and the United States, a Pakistani Foreign Office spokesperson told CNN, following conflicting claims about recent diplomatic contacts between Tehran and Washington.
“If both sides agree, Pakistan is always ready to host talks,” Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said.
The statements come amid contradictory messaging from top Iranian and US officials regarding the status of talks. Iran’s Foreign Ministry reported there was “no dialogue” between Tehran and Washington, according to state-backed media, while US President Donald Trump told CNN that discussions over the past weekend resulted in a 15-point agreement.
Sources indicate that, to date, communications between Tehran and Washington have largely been conducted via intermediaries from other nations, including Türkiye and Egypt, in an effort to de-escalate ongoing regional tensions stemming from the US–Israeli military operations against Iran, now entering their fourth week.
