Tehran claims foiled plot to transmit military coordinates
Iranian authorities have announced the detention of 28 individuals described as “Wahhabi terrorists and US-Israeli agents” in the southeastern part of the country, according to the Ministry of Intelligence.
The information was reported by the press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
In a separate development, officials said five additional “mercenaries” linked to a group referred to as “International” were identified while attempting to transmit coordinates of military, defence, and strategically significant facilities, as well as commercial and economic centres.
According to the statement, the suspects were uncovered through an intelligence network known as the “Hidden Soldiers of Imam Zaman.”
Authorities also reported the seizure of a substantial cache of weapons and equipment from those detained, including Kalashnikov assault rifles, pistols, more than 20 hand-held explosive devices, and 20 Starlink satellite internet units.
