Tehran claims partial closure of Strait of Hormuz

The commander of the Iranian Navy, Shahram Irani, said that Iran’s armed forces have blocked the Strait of Hormuz “from the side of the Arabian Sea,” warning of “decisive” action if any “adversary” advances.

According to Iran International, Irani did not clarify what he meant by closing the strait “from the side of the Arabian Sea.” His remarks come amid heightened tensions related to maritime navigation and security in the region.
