Tehran confirms Pezeshkian’s upcoming visit to Armenia
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is expected to make an official visit to Armenia within the next two weeks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.
He confirmed the news in an interview with Tehran TV, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Highlighting the importance of strengthening ties with neighbouring countries, Araghchi noted: “The development of Iran’s relations with its neighbours has been very important over the past year... Mr. Pezeshkian visited Iraq, Azerbaijan, will visit Armenia in a week or two, visited Turkmenistan, Tajikistan... Pakistan, Oman, Qatar.”
The upcoming visit follows Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s trip to Iran in July 2024, during which he held talks with President Pezeshkian.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation across political, economic, and humanitarian sectors. A year later, in July 2025, Pashinyan extended a formal invitation to the Iranian leader to visit Yerevan.
