Tehran seeks clarity from US over Strait of Hormuz

Iran continues to await an official response from the United States through intermediaries to its proposals for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to Araghchi, President Donald Trump publicly rejected the initiative, but the diplomatic channel has yet to deliver Washington’s final position.

Araghchi noted that Tehran had reviewed the US president’s initial reaction but considers it contradictory, adding that a clear and formal response from the United States will determine how the situation develops further.

The foreign minister stressed that progress is possible only if the US side meets the demands put forward by Tehran.
