Tehran signals massive ground readiness as US moves loom

More than one million Iranian fighters are said to be ready for a potential ground confrontation with the United States, according to a military source cited by Tasnim news agency, as speculation grows about a possible US operation on Iran’s southern front.

The source said that reports of a potential US ground campaign have triggered a surge of enthusiasm among Iranian fighters, who, according to the statement, aim to turn any such operation into what was described as a “real historical hell” for American forces inside Iran.

In addition to claims of large-scale mobilisation, the source noted that in recent days there has been a significant increase in applications from young people seeking to join combat units through the Basij, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and the regular army.

The same source also addressed tensions surrounding strategic waterways, stating: “The US wants to open the strait at the cost of self-sacrifice — this is not a problem. We are ready for them to follow their strategy of self-sacrifice, while the strait remains closed.”
