Tehran to stage funeral march honoring fallen commanders
A funeral procession for senior military commanders and civilians killed during the recent conflict will take place in Tehran on March 11, Tasnim News Agency reports.
The procession will begin at Islamic Revolution Square and proceed to the Martyrs' Mausoleum in the Iranian capital. Organizers have called on participants to maintain order, emphasizing that the event will be held in remembrance of those who lost their lives.
The command of the Mohammad Rasoolullah Corps in Greater Tehran has released the names of the individuals whose funerals are scheduled for March 11. They include:
General Abdolrahim Mousavi— Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces;
Mohammad Pakpour — commander of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC);
Ali Shamkhani - secretary of Iran’s Defence Council;
Aziz Nasirzadeh — Minister of Defence;
Mohammad Shirazi, Chief of the Office of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Also listed among the fallen are several commanders identified as Sepahbads: Darehbaghi, Ali Tajik, Davud Asgari, Hosseini-Motlaq, Babaeian, Helali, and Rezaeian.
Among the deceased are also a number of civilians, including entire families who were killed in the conflict.
The command expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims, noting that the funeral ceremonies will take place tomorrow.
