Tehran vows decisive response to any hostile conduct
Iran has issued a stern warning that any continued hostile actions against the country will elicit a “firm, proportionate, and decisive” response, the Secretariat of the Supreme Defence Council announced.
Released on January 6, the statement strongly condemned what it described as “the escalation of threatening language and interventionist remarks” directed at the Islamic Republic, Mehr News Agency reports.
“Iran’s security, independence, and territorial integrity constitute an unbreakable red line,” the Secretariat said, emphasizing that “any act of aggression or persistence of hostile conduct will be met with a proportionate, firm, and decisive response.”
The statement further clarified that Iran’s approach to self-defence is proactive. “Within the framework of legitimate self-defence, the Islamic Republic of Iran does not limit itself solely to responding after an action has taken place,” it said, highlighting the country’s readiness to act against perceived threats before they materialize.
According to the Secretariat, “clear and tangible signs of threat are considered part of Iran’s security equation,” reflecting a security strategy centered on deterrence, preparedness, and vigilance.
