Telegram applies for its own .gram domain for user-specific addresses

Telegram has applied for its own top-level domain, .gram, the messenger’s founder Pavel Durov said on his official channel.

Durov explained that if the application is approved by ICANN, Telegram’s billion users will be able to obtain their own second-level domains.

“For example, @durov would get durov.gram, and @monk would get monk.gram,” Durov added.

If Telegram is granted its own domain, users will also be able to create interactive websites hosted within the messenger simply by sending a single message, he added
