Telegram CEO launches cutting-edge AI and blockchain project in Kazakhstan
The social network Telegram is set to roll out a project combining artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology on a supercomputer in Kazakhstan.
The initiative was announced by the network's co-founder and CEO, Pavel Durov, during a plenary session at the Digital Bridge forum in Astana, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
Durov said he was “very proud” to open an AI laboratory in the Alem.AI building and confirmed that the first project will be a collaboration between Telegram and Kazakhstan’s supercomputing cluster, launched under the country’s Ministry of AI and Digital Development.
He added that Telegram has been developing the technology over recent months, aiming to integrate blockchain with AI.
The system is expected to enable over 1 billion users to access AI-generated functions in a decentralised, private, and transparent manner, with Telegram’s mini-applications serving as the first users.
Kazakhstan has actively promoted itself as a hub for AI and digital innovation, offering incentives and infrastructure for international tech projects.
Experts note that integrating AI with blockchain could enhance transparency, data security, and scalability for large-scale applications, potentially influencing the broader ecosystem of decentralised technologies.
