Thai citizen sues Armenian president

A Thai citizen has filed a lawsuit against Armenian President Vahagn Khachatryan in the Administrative Court of Armenia with a request to oblige him to grant him citizenship of the republic.

The court allowed the claim to proceed, Caliber.Az reports citing the Yerevan-based daily Hraparak on February 3.

The Thai national has been in Armenia for five years. Here he opened a Thai takeaway restaurant, created jobs, and even did charity work. He is also a graduate student at Gladzor University.

However, Armenia's National Security Service issued a negative recommendation, advising the country's president not to grant Bundi citizenship of the republic, which is being challenged in court.
