"They use as human shields" Russian conscript in Ukraine reveals shocking facts

The Russian military command deploys conscripted soldiers, who have not even been properly trained, on the front line, using them as cannon fodder.

Russian Telegram channel SOTA presented an audio recording of a Russian conscript, who revealed the internal situation in the Russian military units combining mobilised Russians.

"SOTA got hold of an audio recording of the story of a soldier from the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in Russia’s far east who was mobilised on 22 September. At the moment, he is getting treatment for the injuries he received on the front," Ukrainska Pravda writes.

"He states that by now, all 400 people mobilised from the island of Sakhalin in Russia’s far east have been either killed or injured [later, this phrase disappeared from the original message on the Telegram channel; the released audio contains only the information that 400 mobilised people were deployed on different fronts – ed.]".

The geographical names mentioned by the soldier indicate that the events he described occurred on the Donetsk front.

The main points are as follows:

- Soldiers are hardly trained; they get a one-day training course in Russia and some training on the border with Ukraine; the training on the border with Ukraine lasts less than a week and amounts to drinking and casual shooting [i.e. in the air].
- Due to the absence of medical examinations, one mobilised man died from a blood clot.
- The mobilised personnel are being transported to Rostov Oblast in Russia on civilian planes.
- The troops on the front are hardly fed: they receive food only once every three days.
- The mobilised men are deployed first on the front line, ahead of the contract soldiers. In fact, they are used as a human shields.
- Unlike the Ukrainian army, the Russian army [presumably, the man referred to certain units, not the entire army – ed.] has no modern armaments such as drones or high-precision artillery.
