Time for Russia to say goodbye to OSCE PA State Duma speaker says
Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has said that it is time for Russia to say goodbye to OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
“It is time for Russia to say goodbye to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly because of the structure's lack of independence and excessive politicization,” Volodin said at the plenary session of the State Duma, Gazeta.ru reports.
"Let's make a decision for ourselves, it's time for us to say goodbye to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The organization is absolutely not independent, politicized. They dance to the tune and perform all the dances of Washington - what should we do there?" Volodin stated.
He noted that despite the virtually powerless position of the Russian delegation, the country has to pay contributions to the organization, being one of the major contributors. Volodin added that Russia should take a wait-and-see attitude after the OSCE PA funding is cut off.
