Tokayev emphasizes importance of trans-caspian transport route

The Trans-Caspian Transport Route opens a range of new possibilities for Eurasian markets. 

The Kazakh President of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave this remark along a meeting of  Council members of CIS Heads on October 28 in Astana, the leader’s press service reports.

In his speech, Tokayev touched upon matters regarding the development of the transit-transportational capabilities, namely the perspectives of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).

"This matter is becoming more relevant and I believe the CIS member states will work together for the development of existing potential, in particular, developing trade in the direction of ‘North-South’ with access to Iran, the Persian Gulf and India", Tokayev state.
