Tour operators report hotel occupancy in Turkey exceeds 80 percent in May
The occupancy of Turkish hotels in the south and west of Turkey in May exceeds 80%. This was announced on Monday by the head of the Union of Turkish Tour Operators, Firuz Baglykaya.
“The occupancy rate of Turkish hotels for May is 80-90%. The situation in the Turkish tourism market is not bad in comparison with other countries in the region. We are currently hosting more tourists than they are and getting more bookings. The reason is that people have not been able to go on vacation for a long time, so now there is a very high occupancy in hotels in the south and west of Turkey,” Yeni Safak quoted him as saying.
Earlier, Minister of Finance and Treasury of the Republic Nureddin Nebati said that Ankara expects to receive at least 45 million tourists in 2022 and receive an income of $35 billion.
