Tripartite talks on Ukraine set for February 4–5 in Abu Dhabi, Kremlin confirms

02 February 2026 16:31

The Kremlin has confirmed that the next round of negotiations between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States will be held in Abu Dhabi on February 4–5. The announcement was made by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov during a briefing.

Peskov noted that the second round of discussions within the security issues working group had originally been scheduled for February 1, but required additional coordination of the three parties’ schedules, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

“Now, on Wednesday and Thursday, the second round will indeed take place in Abu Dhabi,” he said.

Describing the Ukrainian settlement as “a very complex and multi-vector process,” Peskov acknowledged that progress has been made on certain issues where discussions have yielded points of agreement.

“On some issues, we have certainly advanced because there were discussions and talks, and on some issues it is easier to find points of contact. There are issues where finding common ground remains more challenging. Unfortunately, convergence cannot yet be confirmed on these matters,” he added.

When questioned about the energy truce, which was in effect until February 1, Peskov said he had nothing further to add. “I have nothing to add to what I told you during the last conference call, where the discussion focused specifically on February 1,” he stated.
