Truck queue forms at Kazakhstan-Russia border crossing
A queue of freight trucks has formed at the Kosak border checkpoint in Kazakhstan’s Pavlodar Region, according to the press service of the National Security Committee (KNB).
The congestion has been attributed to a seasonal increase in vegetable shipments crossing the border. The committee said the checkpoint is operating under an enhanced regime to reduce waiting times, while coordination has been established with local authorities to manage the situation, Caliber.Az reports via Kazakh media.
The KNB also reminded transport operators that several alternative international border crossings are available in the region, including Urlutobe and Sharbakty in Pavlodar Region, as well as Karakoga, Zhanazhol, and Kyzyl-Zhar in North Kazakhstan Region. In addition, an electronic queue system is in place, allowing drivers to check slot availability in advance.
“We ask transport operators to take the situation into account and adjust their routes through alternative directions,” the committee said.
