Trump calls for expanded deportation efforts in major US cities
US President Donald Trump has called for intensifying efforts to detain and deport undocumented migrants in major American cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.
In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote that agents from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had shown "incredible strength, determination, and courage" in carrying out what he described as the largest mass deportation operation in the country's history, Caliber.Az reports.
“Our Nation’s ICE Officers have shown incredible strength, determination, and courage as they facilitate a very important mission, the largest Mass Deportation Operation of Illegal Aliens in History. In order to achieve this, we must expand efforts to detain and deport Illegal Aliens in America’s largest Cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where Millions upon Millions of Illegal Aliens reside,” he said.
The president added: “These, and other such Cities, are the core of the Democrat Power Center, where they use Illegal Aliens to expand their Voter Base, cheat in Elections, and grow the Welfare State, robbing good paying Jobs and Benefits from Hardworking American Citizens.”
Since resuming office in January 2025, President Donald Trump has intensified his administration's immigration enforcement policies, focusing on large-scale deportations of undocumented immigrants. The Trump administration argues that deporting undocumented immigrants, especially those with criminal records, helps improve public safety and national security.
A government data estimate that there are about 15.4 million illegal aliens in the United States, a 50% increase over the four years of the Biden administration.
