Trump-Erdoğan call brings regional and global issues into focus
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump held a phone call during which they discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments, according to Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications.
Erdoğan stressed the importance of diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between Iran and the United States and expressed Türkiye’s readiness to support initiatives aimed at achieving peace. He also highlighted the importance of the Mecca Agreement in strengthening regional security, Caliber.Az reports.
The two leaders also discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip. The Turkish president stressed the need to move to the second stage of the peace process and support the reconstruction of the enclave.
