Trump to host luncheon honoring Pakistan’s Field Marshal at White House
US President Donald Trump is scheduled to host a luncheon on June 18 in honor of Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, as part of the military leader’s official visit to the United States.
The event will take place in the Cabinet Room of the White House, where a high-level meeting between President Trump and Field Marshal Munir is also expected, Caliber.Az reports via Pakistan's media.
According to a White House spokesperson, the luncheon aims to reinforce bilateral relations and discuss matters of mutual interest, including regional security and defense cooperation. Field Marshal Munir's visit began with a grand reception in Washington, D.C., where members of the Pakistani-American community gathered in large numbers to welcome him.
The reception highlighted the diaspora's strong ties to Pakistan and their continued support for the Pakistan Army, particularly lauding its role in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
Addressing the audience, Field Marshal Munir praised the contributions of overseas Pakistanis, calling them the "true ambassadors" of the country. He emphasized their critical role in bolstering Pakistan’s economy through remittances, investments, and achievements in diverse sectors. "The overseas Pakistani community is the backbone of our national development," Munir stated.
He underscored the importance of strengthening engagement with the diaspora to address national challenges and work collectively toward a more prosperous future. During the event, community members shared their insights and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting a stronger, safer, and more stable Pakistan.
