Trump urges “meaningful deal” with Iran amid nuclear concerns
US President Donald Trump stated that Washington has additional work to do regarding Iran and reiterated that Tehran must not acquire nuclear weapons.
“We have some work to do with Iran. They cannot have nuclear weapons — that was made very clear to them,” he said during remarks at the inaugural session of the Board of Peace, currently underway in Washington.
According to the American leader, the next steps will depend on the outcome of negotiations, and a decision could be made soon.
Trump said that they might have to take the next step, or they might not, and that they might strike a deal, adding that the outcome would probably be known within the next 10 days.
He also noted that US representatives Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner held productive talks with Iranian officials.
“Witkoff and Kushner had some very good meetings with the Iranians.
We have to make a meaningful deal; otherwise, bad things happen,” the US president emphasized.
