Turkish Airlines to launch daily İstanbul–Yerevan-İstanbul flights
Türkiye’s special envoy for normalising relations with Armenia, Serdar Kılıç, has announced that regular air services will soon operate between İstanbul and Yerevan.
According to Caliber.Az, Kılıç confirmed on his X page that the national carrier, Turkish Airlines, will begin daily flights on the İstanbul–Yerevan–İstanbul route from March 11, 2026.
“This is another step forward,” he wrote.
Air links between Türkiye and Armenia have a sporadic history: the land border has been closed since 1993, while charter flights began in 1995. Scheduled services launched in 2015 via AtlasGlobal but ended in 2020. In 2022, Pegasus Airlines and FlyOne Armenia resumed commercial flights.
Turkish Airlines’ entry promises more capacity, flexible schedules, and improved global connectivity through Istanbul—benefiting travellers, cross-border families, students, and small businesses alike.
