Turkish-American groups urge US Congress to back F-35 sale to Türkiye
Turkish-American civic organisations operating in the United States have personally delivered a joint letter to more than 50 members of the US Congress, urging them to support the sale of F-35 fighter jets to Türkiye.
The groups also called for the full removal of sanctions and other obstacles to defence cooperation between Ankara and Washington, according to Turkish media.
The initiative involved the Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA), Turkish Coalition of America (TCA), Federation of Turkish American Associations (TADF), Turkish American National Steering Committee (TASC), Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (MUSİAD USA), Turkish American Chamber of Commerce of the South (TACCS), and Anatolian Lions Businessmen Association (ASKON USA).
The joint letter emphasises the importance of the alliance between Türkiye and the United States, as well as its significance for regional and global security. According to the organisations, defence cooperation serves the interests of both countries.
