Turkish Armed Forces prepared to undertake missions in Gaza, says defence minister
The Armed Forces of Türkiye are prepared to assume responsibilities in Gaza, says a statement by Turkish Minister of National Defence, Yaşar Güler. His remarks come amid ongoing international discussions regarding the future stability of the region.
Minister Güler lauded the current ceasefire in Gaza and voiced hope that it would serve as the foundation for a just and lasting two-state solution, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Highlighting Türkiye’s readiness to contribute to a prospective multinational task force in the Gaza Strip, Güler stated: “As a NATO ally for more than 70 years, we have participated in these meetings and conveyed to our colleagues our national position and assessments on a wide range of issues, from the alliance's agenda to regional issues and European security.”
The Defence Minister underscored Ankara’s continued engagement with NATO and its commitment to regional peace and security, reaffirming the country’s willingness to take an active role in multinational peacekeeping or stabilisation efforts should such a force be established in Gaza.
