Turkish Army CH-47 helicopter goes down in Ankara training exercise
A military helicopter belonging to Türkiye’s Army Aviation Command crashed during a training exercise in the capital, Ankara, the country’s Ministry of National Defence (MSB) confirmed on April 22.
According to the ministry, cited by TRT Haber, the incident involved a CH-47 heavy transport helicopter, which went down in the Temeli area while carrying out a routine training flight. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
In an official statement, the MSB said that no personnel were injured in the crash. Authorities emphasised that a comprehensive investigation has been launched to establish the exact circumstances and cause of the incident.
The ministry added that further details will be made available once the inquiry is completed.
