Turkish army kills hundreds of terrorists in Iraq within Operation "Pençe-Kilit"
The Turkish Armed Forces have neutralized 455 militants, destroyed 557 caves and terrorist shelters, and disabled 1,904 explosive devices in northern Iraq since the beginning of Operation Pençe-Kilit (Claw-Lock).
The anti-terror operation continues successfully in the areas of Metina, Zap, and Avashin-Basyan in northern Iraq, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Twitter message of the Turkish National Defence Ministry.
In addition, as part of the operation, the Turkish military seized 1,203 weapons of various calibres, AT-3, AT-4, AT-5 anti-tank missiles, rocket launchers, Dochka and Zagros anti-aircraft guns, and Bixi machine guns, Kanas sniper rifles, Kalashnikov assault rifles and M-16 infantry rifles from the caves.
Türkiye's Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar, upon monitoring border areas last week, said that the liberation of the Zap region from terrorists is already close.
