Turkish army receives all-new howitzer of local production PHOTO

Turkish-made 105-mm light-towed howitzers BORAN entered service with the Turkish Armed Forces.

The Ministry of National Defence of Türkiye reported that the first batch of BORAN howitzers manufactured by MKE (Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi) was already transferred to military units of the national army, Anadolu informs.

Howitzers weighing 1,780 kg have successfully passed 24 different tests. The guns deploy in 1 minute and can be transported by air. The effective firing range is 17 km. BORAN howitzers fire six rounds per minute.

Turkish howitzers can be used in temperature ranges from minus 32 degrees of frost to 44 degrees of heat.
