The ASELFLIR-500 system, hailed as a pinnacle of electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance, and targeting technology, is poised to set new standards in its class worldwide. This system's capabilities surpass even the targeting system (CATS) previously developed by Aselsan, filling a crucial technological gap created when Canada halted the sale of optical equipment to Türkiye in 2020.
One of the contracts will mark the maiden export of the GÖZDE guidance kit alongside the ASELFLIR-500 system. The GÖZDE guidance kit, a collaborative effort between Aselsan and TÜBİTAK SAGE, has already begun deployment in the army since last year. This cutting-edge technology transforms MK-82 500 lb class general-purpose bombs into precision-guided munitions using INS/GPS guidance, ensuring accurate strikes against both stationary and high-speed moving targets within the speed range of 50-120 km/h.
Certified for integration with F-16 and F-4 aircraft, the GÖZDE guidance kit's versatility extends to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), with successful integration into the Bayraktar Akıncı UAV already completed.
