Turkish authorities arrest 26 in Yalova following deadly ISIS clash
Authorities in Türkiye's Yalova province, where police officers were killed in a shootout with Islamic State (ISIS) members, have taken 26 previously detained suspects into custody.
Following the clash, which occurred on December 29, 2025, police conducted large-scale raids in Yalova and neighbouring provinces to apprehend individuals connected to ISIS activities, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media.
Initially, 42 people suspected of ties to the terrorist group were detained and brought before a court, which ordered 26 of them held in custody.
In the wake of the incident, security forces carried out extensive counterterrorism operations across dozens of provinces, detaining around 360 suspects. Courts will review whether to extend their arrests.
