Turkish authorities seize thousands of illegal weapons across 41 provinces VIDEO
Turkish security forces have carried out a large-scale operation targeting arms and ammunition smugglers across 41 provinces, resulting in the seizure of thousands of illegal weapons and the detention of over a hundred suspects.
According to a statement by Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya on the social media platform X, the coordinated raids were conducted simultaneously in multiple regions as part of an intensified crackdown on illegal arms trafficking, Caliber.Az reports.

The minister reported that during the operations, authorities confiscated 95 unregistered pistols, 3,116 gas pistols, 31 unregistered hunting rifles, 2 hand grenades, and 19,467 weapon components. In total, 135 individuals were taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in arms smuggling and related criminal activity.
Yerlikaya emphasized that such operations will continue nationwide to curb the circulation of illegal weapons and strengthen public security, reaffirming the government’s determination to combat organized crime and illegal arms networks across Türkiye.
