Turkish cabinet to consider measures against Greece
The Turkish government at a meeting on Monday, September 5, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will consider possible measures to counter Greece in connection with the growing tension between the two countries in recent days.
This was reported on September 4 by the state TV channel TRT, Report informs.
The TV company, citing military sources, noted that since the beginning of the year, 1,123 cases of harassment and attempts to intercept Turkish military aircraft by the Greek Air Force have been recorded. In 14 cases, Turkish fighters were "captured on the radar" by air defence systems, which Ankara perceives as hostile actions.
The Turkish president called on Greece last Saturday [September 3] to abandon the policy of tension towards Ankara, warning the neighbouring country of possible negative consequences for it.
