Social media users in Kazakhstan have shared videos showcasing the presence of Turkish COBRA-II armoured tactical vehicles in the country, signalling a significant development in bilateral defence cooperation.
Manufactured by OTOKAR, a key player in the Turkish defence industry renowned for its expertise in armoured vehicle production, the COBRA-II vehicles have reportedly been delivered to Kazakhstan, as reported by Caliber.Az, citing Defense Turk's message on X.

The information went viral in 2023 that Kazakhstan ordered 150 COBRA-II armoured tactical vehicles from OTOKAR. However, no official statements have been made in this regard.
According to Orda.kz news agency, Kazakhstan wants to purchase more than 800 armoured vehicles from Türkiye. In this regard, 834 ARMA 8x8 armoured combat vehicles worth two trillion tenge ($4.5 billion) produced by OTOKAR will be purchased.
ARMA and TULPAR were noticed during testing in Kazakhstan in early 2023.
